Balayage

Balayage is a French word meaning to sweep or to paint. In a hair salon however, the word has become a way of life. ... The technique involves hand painting hair, in a sweeping motion with a brush. This allows for a sun-kissed, natural looking hair colour, similar to what nature gives us as children.

The blended finish means you'll have more time between salon appointments. Generally speaking, the intention of Balayage is that it looks quite natural, so as a result it is relatively low maintenance as far as the frequency of salon visits goes. Depending on how intense the balayage look is, you can go 8-12 weeks between salon visits.

This technique takes 2-3 hours and starts at $175+.

Ombre

Ombre is the French word for "color that is shaded or graduated in tone".

The technique involves blending of one color hue to another, usually moving tints and shades from light to dark where the bottom portion of your hair looks lighter than the top portion.

The blended finish means you can leave longer between your salon appointments. Because the roots remain dark or natural the result it is relatively low maintenance as far as the frequency of salon visits goes. Depending on how intense the Ombre look is, you can go 8-16 weeks between salon visits. It's really up to you!

Money Piece

A Money Piece Highlight is often reffered to as "Face-Framing Highlights" and is the technique of hand painting highlights around the face from root to end to brighten your overall appearance.

This technique lifts your complexion, makes your color pop and will grow out very softly with minimal upkeep or maintenance. While it is a highlighting method, a money piece doesn’t have to be blonde! Typically, it should be two to three shades lighter than the rest of your hair to create just the right amount of contrast and lightness. Becasue the grow out is soft you can go up to 8 weeks between salon visits.

This technique takes 2 hours and starts at $125+

Platinum

Platinum blonde is the lightest shade on the blonde hair color chart. It is a cool-toned whitish color that suits pale and light complexions but can also be stunning on darker features as well. There are several shades of platinum from very icy to pearly violet.

Platinum blonde is the most dramatic of all the lightening services and can be a bit high maintainance but it sure is stunning. To achieve Platinum hair it can take several rounds of lightening depending on your natural color and will need to be touched up every 3-5 weeks at the maximum if  your desired look is root to end platinum. Purple shampoo is going to be your best friend and heat pertectants and sulfate free products are a must to avoid any yellowing.

This technique can vary on timing and price.

Full Highlight

A full highlight involves highlighting hair in every section of your head. This could be slightly lightening all of your hair or for something more dramatic, such as going from brunette to blonde.

Full highlights offer a more dramatic look, as they wrap all around the head. The weave of the highlight can be customized to achieve the perfect amount of blonde. A full highlight is great for fine hair because it gives it texture and dimension. It is also suited for anyone looking to go lighter in general. Depending on the thickness of your hair alternating between full and partial highlight appointments can be more cost-effective, as the highlights placed in the back of the head aren't as visible as the highlights on the top of the head.

This technique takes 2-3 hours and starts at $175+

Baby Lights

Babylights are very delicate, white-blonde highlights created using a very fine color technique to mimic that blonde hue achieved if your hair is naturally lightened in the sun.

Babylights are very tiny weaves with less dimension, creating a brighter blonde because of the fine and tight sections. The best part is that the results of babylights can last much longer than traditional highlights Because the application is so fine and a bit more random you can go up to 8 weeks between salon visits. This technique is suited for all hair types and are ideal for someone wanting a modest change. Babylights are also a great jumping off point for someone new to highlighting.

This technique takes 2-4 hours and starts at $175+

Partial Hightlight

Partial highlights are placed on the top and sides of the hair and give off a brighter, face-framing look. They are suited for all hair types and colors and give you a sunkissed look (as if you just came back from a vacation in the tropics)

Partial highlights are ideal for those seeking a more natural look, as they're designed to lighten the hair the same way the sun would lighten your hair. They can also simply draw attention to certain features in your face or hair and give your hair a flowy texture. Because you'll still see your base color, partial highlights look more natural and will allow 4-7 weeks between visits in the salon.

This technique takes 90+ min and starts at $145
